Riverdale Estate Red Fruit

Our last seasonal coffee from the 2021 harvest is here! What makes this light roast so special is that it comes from one of our most celebrated partner farms — Riverdale Estate. For this lot, coffee cherries were fermented using a red fruit native to the Kodaikanal region, for 72-90 hours in airtight containers. Using coffee cherries of a high Brix value (amount of dissolved sugar by volume) and fermenting them for longer than usual, helped in retaining sweetness in the final cup. This interesting process gives this coffee aromas of berries and citrus, along with a rich red fruit flavour profile. If you’ve previously tried our Riverdale N72 coffee, you’ll love this light roast’s tasting notes of plum, red grape and mandarin orange. This heavy-bodied coffee is best enjoyed when brewed using an Aeropress, Pour Over or as a Cold Brew.

Riverdale Estate is located in the Shevaroy Hills of Tamil Nadu and, since 1920, three generations have worked hard to consistently enrich the quality of coffee that grows here. A freshwater stream called Riverdale meanders through this estate, lending the farm its name.
